WHY PEOPLE LOVE US

     Cate and Lathem’s verve and energy are contagious and I appreciate that they can always pull through what I was saying I want retained from our current setting... yet they build on with a fresh look.

     Through our contractor, we engaged Gordon Dunning to design a complete renovation of our main level floor space (including the kitchen, breakfast room, great room, living room, dining room, foyer, and powder room) to open up all the rooms into one single inviting space with the central focus being a contemporary styled kitchen. They designed every element of our renovation including the layout of an open concept floor plan (which encompassed the elimination of at least three structural walls) and all new finishes throughout the space. We also engaged them to design and install all the furnishings and décor including furniture, art, and accessories. I have to say that these two ladies created an amazing transformation of the main level of our home into a space that is truly jaw-dropping! Most importantly, Cate and Lathem displayed an uncanny ability to get a feel for our personal interests, hobbies, life history, and personal stories. Then, they successfully incorporated critical elements of our life stories into the design of the new space – a space that is incredibly sophisticated, stylish, personalized, yet casual & inviting. The ladies also threw in many unexpected, yet perfectly spot-on, elements in the design that allows for our home to be individualized and unique. I doubt that there is any kitchen anywhere that looks like our new kitchen – it is one of a kind! Even though my partner and I could not have envisioned the end result of the renovation of our home ourselves, we truly feel that Cate and Lathem created a free flowing, inviting and vibrant space for us that absolutely could not be more perfect for our lives. Now that we are settled back into our home, we have caught ourselves at random moments just gazing around the newly redesigned space, marveling at how beautiful it now is! And, in addition to the high quality of their work, Cate and Lathem made our renovation design process a fun experience because of their great sense of humor and fun loving personalities. Thank you Cate and Lathem, you are truly geniuses in home design field!

     Cate and Lathem have been a complete joy to work with! They are professional, talented, easy to work with and so much fun!!! We are extremely pleased with our home (they furnished our kitchen, dining room and living room). They listen intently, observe keenly and respond quickly--traits that are difficult to find in companies these days! We highly recommend them and their work!

     As the owner of Alair Homes Decatur, we have hired GordonDunning for four separate custom major interior renovation projects, all of which included major space planning, as well as kitchen and bathroom designs. All of our clients LOVED working with Cate and Lathem. Their ability to listen deeply to our client's needs, wants, and aesthetics, and then translating that listening into unique and extraordinary designs, is extraordinary. Cate and Lathem are true team players, and we are already in the early planning stages of our fifth project together. One word of warning: be prepared to laugh and be inspired, and enjoy the design process!

     You don't need my words to describe Cate and Lathem's design style--it jumps out. What you can't see online is that Cate and Lathem, without question, care about their clients. They're devoted not to just make a pleasing space for their clients, though they do that in spades, but to make it their CLIENT'S pleasing space. They learn about you first, and your design preferences second, making both come alive through the design process. Couldn't recommend them enough.

     I highly recommend using the services of GordonDunning. I found Cate and Lathem on Instagram (check out their feed - it's great) after admiring some work they did for a friend of a friend. They were an absolute delight to work with from the very beginning - full of energy and ideas. Despite my husband and I having very different tastes, they were able to merge our styles in creating our entry and living room. We are so happy with both rooms - they created a stylish, family friendly environment that we love to spend time in. Cate and Lathem also hit the nail on the head with my boys' rooms, creating rooms they can grow up in that still work for their young ages. We're looking forward to hiring them for phase two.

     Gordon Dunning is phenomenal to work with! So smart and fun! They really listened to what we wanted and were able to provide design options that met our budget and vision. We are definitely working with them again!!

     Absolutely amazing! My husband thought he had walked into the wrong house!! Everything was so well coordinated. It amazed me how they pulled everything together perfectly down to the smallest detail and even made our old pieces look fabulous mixed in with the new.

     Lathem & Cate worked with me when I downsized to a smaller space in a high rise. Very few of my existing furnishings worked at the new place, so we started with a clean slate. They really listened and instinctively knew what I would like. They created a beautiful space that felt comfortable and familiar. They were a joy to work with throughout the project.      Gordon Dunning is a top-notch design company—a partnership of women who are amazingly talented designers and a joy to work with. They are gifted at understanding the personal tastes of their clients and the vibe clients wish to create for their space. I was truly astonished by the rooms they designed for us. Friends and family give us compliments regularly. Gordon Dunning helped make our home the way we have always wanted it to be, and I’m so grateful that we were able to work with them.

     We recently remodeled our home and had Cate and Lathem helped design and furnish our main living areas as well as helped with the selections for the overall fixture and countertop/tiles. We love our finished product and working with them was lots of fun. They really did a great job and had beautiful options to choose from - it was nothing I could have ever dreamed of putting together. Some of the items were things I would have never thought of, but we trusted them and they came out beautifully.

     GordonDunning gives expert advice to their clients. They are great at working with a client who already has ideas about the desired look, or outcome, or they can help the client find inspiration through their expertise! Either way, they are friendly and approachable, and a beautiful home is accomplished! I have enjoyed working with these ladies over the past four years!

     Lathem and Cate are fantastic!  This is our second house we have worked with them on and will definitely not be our last. I adore working with these two lovely ladies. Their style is spot on, and they understood me and my style immediately. They are very accommodating, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. We just had a 40 person Christmas party, and there was not one person who came that did not remark on our house and the decorating. Top to bottom, GordonDunning styles and impresses. We are so lucky to have found them!

     These girls are awesome! We used them to help set up our main floor and renovate our kitchen, and we were blown away by the finished product. We are absolutely in love with the work they did and how they were able to bring our "vision" to reality. They were able to think creatively and use every inch of our space for form and function. We couldn't be happier! Any bumps we encountered along the way were dealt with professionally and resolved quickly by these two (with a smile on their faces!). Highly recommended.

     I don't even know where to begin-these ladies are the BEST! This was my first experience using an interior designer and I am officially addicted now! The process they use to determine your style is brilliant (and quite fun)! They also made me feel extremely comfortable when making revisions to the design proposal based on personal taste or budget. I can't wait to start a new project with them in the future!

We found the ladies at GordonDunning incredibly easy to work with, and they do it all with as much or as little input as you want. They had a key to our house and let people in/out and did installs, measurements, etc. without us having to leave work or deal with contractors. They recommended and hired our painter and have relationships with all sorts of people you need and can manage all the details for their clients. 

Lathem and Cate will certainly tailor your house to your style; we found that the figured “us” out pretty quickly and we largely went with their recommendations on colors, furniture, accessories, etc. What we got are classic, quality pieces that we’ll have for the long-haul.
